Federer, Roddick, Davydenko in Red group
Roger Federer will play Andy Roddick and Nikolay Davydenko in the round robin stage of the Tennis Masters Cup.

The top-ranked Federer, who won his third Masters Cup title last year, was drawn Wednesday to play in the Red Group, which also includes Fernando Gonzalez.

The Gold Group opens play Sunday on the indoor hard courts with second-ranked Rafael Nadal facing Richard Gasquet and Novak Djokovic playing David Ferrer.

“It’s a tough draw with Rafa, Novak and Richard but all opponents are very difficult here as it is only the top eight players in the world,” said Ferrer, who attended the draw ceremony.

Ferrer beat Nadal in the fourth round of the U.S. Open, while Federer beat both Roddick and Davydenko on the road to the U.S. Open final, where he defeated Djokovic. Federer also beat Davydenko in the French Open semifinals.

Tennis player Andy Roddick will help charities in Brevard County
A limited amount of tickets will go on sale Saturday for next month’s tennis exhibition in Brevard County featuring Andy Roddick.

The Harris Corporation and OMNI Healthcare Rally with Roddick will be held Dec. 10 at the Kiwi Tennis Club in Indian Harbour Beach. Roddick and three other American pros will compete in an exhibition doubles match. Proceeds from the charity event will benefit two local children’s charities, Brevard Neighborhood Development Coalition and CATCH of Brevard.

Tickets will be available at the club from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. They are $150 each with cash or personal checks accepted. After Saturday, remaining tickets may be bought by calling 779-1419.

Roddick also will participate that night in a brief doubles match that will include the highest bidder for the final spot among the four. To bid for that spot, visit www.rallywithroddick.com. The tennis will begin at 6 p.m.
